Manuscript Collections: Sievert Papers – newspaper clipping regarding various early Beaumont, Texas landmarks and also photographs of the city’s sites and citizens some whom were Sievert family members Herman Iles Papers – newspaper clippings concerning activities of the Lamar Board of Trustees while Iles was a member St. Paul African Episcopal Church Papers – consists of a booklet written by Fay Etta Donovan entitled “A Historical Synopsis of the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church.” Sir Isaac Newton Manuscript – a medical manuscript with remedies on five of the pages and also two formulas for preparing medicines. Rufus King Letter – Civil War letter written in 1862 by Union General King to his father in which he relates the poor conditions which he and his troops had to endure Elizabeth Enright Letter – letter written to three Lamar students in response to a letter and phone call from the students to the author concerning her short story “The Signature” McReynolds –Shelby Papers – business financial records, deeds and notebooks of McReynolds and Shelby Nona Mills Company Records (See also #14 and # 26) – company records that include income tax returns, group annuity and insurance records, invoices, correspondence, expense accounts, minutes and banking records Larry Jene Fisher Papers - collection of contact sheets, negatives, and prints of Fisher’s work as a photographer many of which depict the Big Thicket George Schaumberg Papers - five items portraying in text, drawings, photographs and maps the part that XIX Corps Engineers played in the defeat of the Germans in World War II Joseph J. Vincent Papers – the papers of the Vincent/State Manpower Development and Training Act Advisory Committee date from 1966-1969 and include minutes of various area MDTA Advisory Committee meetings in Texas. Lois Parker Big Thicket Collection - alphabetical files of Big Thicket related subjects plus a Big Thicket newspaper clippings file (1854-1977) Ruth Scurlock Papers – represents material gathered over a period of almost fifty years and contains many newspaper clippings of the arts, of folklore, and of national, state and local history East Texas Nature Club Records – club records and scrapbook history, correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters and publications dealing with environmental protection W. T. Block Papers – typescripts, newspaper clippings and photocopies of his publications and articles, research materials for his publications, six journals in which his publications appeared and newspaper clippings about Block Joe Combs Papers - files of agricultural bulletins, general works on nature, source materials for his columns and books, correspondence and a holographic autobiography Babe Didrikson Zaharias Collection - Newspaper clippings, photographs, and correspondence of this woman athlete and professional golfer Willard G. Lovell Papers – comprised of four journals, photocopies of newspaper clippings and handwritten notes and photographs Lois Parker Local/Area History – is comprised primarily of newspaper clippings, mainly historical, about Beaumont and the surrounding areas Nona Mills II (See also #2, #26) – company records that include minutes of meetings, schedules of stockholders, auditors reports and reports of the examination of company books and accounts H. A. Perlstein Papers – personal scrapbook and photographs, an industrial resources scrapbook dealing with the iron ore and steel industries in East Texas and a holograph of Perlstein’s funeral eulogy Spindletop Scrapbooks - scrapbooks of “Newspaper Stories of the early Spindletop Era,” recordings related to the Spindletop 50th Anniversary and photocopies of letters, maps and newspaper articles concerning Spindletop Judge Carrillo Impeachment Proceedings – extractions of testimonies of various witnesses, respondents’ pleadings and exhibits and examiner’s pleadings and exhibits in the impeachment trial of Judge O. P. Carrillo William McFaddin Alexander Papers – business correspondence of Alexander relating to his inherited property holdings in Beaumont, Texas Aline Michaelis Papers – correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, poetry, feature articles and stories written for the Beaumont papers and also various manuscripts of children’s stories, short stories and fiction Mary Campbell Papers – scrapbook of newspaper clippings about the Lamar Board of Trustees, administrators, professors and Lamar ex-students and their World War II activities Sabine Area Association of Occupational Health Nurses Records – various local and national records, membership records, political correspondence, manuals, conference reports, and committee and financial records Beaumont Geological Society Records – society records that include constitution and by-laws, correspondence, minutes, treasurer’s reports, mailing and membership lists and financial records J. D. Feigelson Film Collection – scripts, master copies of films, shooting scripts with personal notes and photos of this writer, director and producer Lone Acre Oil Company Records – company records including stockholders list, financial records and statements, correspondence, maps and ledgers Hardin County Salt Water Company Records – company records that include balance sheets, financial records, stockholders lists, correspondence, receipts and invoices Nona Mills III (See also #2, #14) – seventeen record books that include payroll, shipping, land, accounts and a ledger book that were transferred to Special Collections from Spindletop Museum Pete Gunter Papers – bulk of the collection pertains to the preservation of the Big Thicket and includes correspondence, articles, newspaper clippings, maps and notes Christopher Negative Collection – 500,000 photographic negatives from a local photographic studio that document the history of Beaumont, Texas Tarpey Documents – framed Texas documents that are signed by Sam Houston and Mirabeau B. Lamar and Texas Government Bonds purchased by Charles DeMorse< William C. Mundt Family Papers – family papers that include correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs and memorabilia James Committee Scrapbook – large scrapbook containing newspaper clippings about the committee’s work to stamp out vice in Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas in the early 1960s J. A. “Tex” Loep Scrapbooks – twenty-three scrapbooks of pictures that document the job progress and construction of M.W. Kellogg projects spanning the years of 1953-1968 Judson Etheredge Family Papers – a miscellaneous small collection of magazines, almanacs, a 1915 Pine Burr yearbook and postcards of Beaumont, Texas South Texas Association of Dance Teachers (STADT) Dance History Collection – photographs, books and booklets, rare souvenir dance programs, newspaper clippings, Dance Masters of America Convention notes, periodicals and miscellaneous dance items Ada Belle Oil Company Records – company records that include ledgers, check registers, work papers, production reports, work books, tank gauge reports and employees time reports Milton Turner Scrapbooks – scrapbooks of Beaumont Enterprise artist/reporter’s editorials, drawings and stories, columns, portraits of area people and photographs Jack Brooks Papers – congressional papers, awards, mementoes and photographs that cover Brooks’ forty-two year career as a member of the U. S. House of Representatives Yount-Manion Film Collection – forty-six reels of family film that was taken by Frank Yount, founder of the Yount-Lee Oil Company and his family from the 1920’s to the 1960’s Big Thicket National Preserve Administrative Collection – papers, oral histories, slides and photographs related to the establishment of the Preserve< Dorothy Becker World War II Collection – Scrapbook, ephemera, and papers collected while Mrs. Becker was with the 104th Evacuation Hospital in Europe during WWII
